Whether you're brand new to painting or looking to deepen your skills, this 5-week foundational series in learning how to paint in impressionist style is the perfect place to start. Through step-by-step instruction, you’ll explore essential painting techniques and artistic concepts while working toward two beautiful finished pieces. Using acrylics, you’ll learn how to create expressive brush marks, blend colors, layer for depth, and apply lighting effects to bring your work to life. We’ll focus on natural landscapes—practicing with elements like clouds, trees, and mountains—building up skills on paper before completing two canvas paintings. This class is ideal for absolute beginners and for intermediate painters who want to expand their technique and confidence. The images attached below for reference are examples of the landscape paintings, none of the images displayed are what we are going to be creating in this class but rather are examples from imressionist artists that we will look at for style cues on what we are going to create together.
