Channeling Spirit Through Mariposa Paintings: Art Adventures Begins - Part 1

ree

The Mariposa Story Cards were seeded into my consciousness as a part of my awakening after the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012. The energy that came through me to create the cards transformed my life forever. I had been painting environments for children's animated television shows, video games and films for ten years, and I loved what I did. However, when I got back from a month of exploring beaches and jungles in Brazil and returned to my usual work, I abruptly realized that sitting in a dark room and dreaming up environments was no longer satisfying to my soul.

This is when my eighteen-year-old cousin, who had passed away suddenly in his sleep not long before, appeared as my spirit guide and seeded the first image of the Mariposa deck of cards into my consciousness, waking me up to the fact that I had the ability to channel the realm of spirit. (Find out more about this when you read the story of Jeagher, the Owl, and Mariposa under The Totem Owl, card 7 of the Suit of Earth.)  My cousin taught me that my gift of painting went beyond the illusion of the realm of form and into the world of spirit, where it could be used to bridge the gap between the physical and spiritual realms.

What I didn't realize at the time this first image came through was that, as the creator of the cards, my purpose was not only to bring them forth from the realm of spirit, but also to embody and anchor the energy and teachings within the images. I was going through energetic upgrades with each image that came through. It was like I had to “walk my talk,” by enacting my paintings.

Every painting became an adventure, a personal journey of expanding into higher levels of consciousness, while simultaneously stripping away the many layers of programming and wounds that had built up over both this and previous lifetimes. The underlying theme of the project became self-empowerment through personal transformation, and I was the guinea pig for the energetic processes that needed to occur in order to ground the energy of the pure love vibration that the cards were destined to bring forth and anchor.

Before I was able to bring forth any more of the cards, I was sent into a two-year healing journey during which I engaged in all kinds of classes, workshops and retreats for studying and practising meditation and healing. One of the most profound experiences was travelling to sacred Mayan sites in Guatemala for energetic downloads. It wasn’t long after my return to Vancouver that I was catapulted out of the big city and back to my home town of Campbell River, BC, where I was informed by spirit that I was returning for a rebirth. Alone in the silence and stillness of the quiet beachfront town at the edge of the world, space had finally been created for the paintings to come through me!

Part 2 of the story of how it lead to the creation of Art Adventures comes later. Stay tuned! For now I am going to take you on an Adventure to get there! In the next blog post I am going to share more about this process, and how I was lead on a journey through my art work and the power of learning how to connect with my loved ones who live in spirit.
